Call us foolish or crazy, but we had not tried Farm Burger until this past weekend, and we are kicking ourselves now. Farm Burger far exceeded our expectations with how amazing their food was.
It has a laid back feel with an old feed and seed store kind of style but in a cool way. The walls have pics of farm animals and fresh vegetables and why not? Afterall, Farm Burger serves beef that is 100% grass fed without antibiotics, hormones or grain, thus fresh, wholesome ingredients.
They also collaborate with local farms to get only the freshest ingredients. It comes as no surprise that they earned a spot as one of the top 14 burgers in the country by Food and Wine. Farm Burger has a very impressive menu with all of the typical burger toppings, but they also have many other unexpected toppings for an additional price.
They have daily combos which include fries and a drink, or you can create your own original. You may choose from beef, chicken, pork or veggie quinoa as your burger base. Not many burger places give you the broad array of choices that Farm Burger offers. We walked up to order and had a hard time trying to decide so the manager on duty, Taylor, could sense our dilemma and offered us a few suggestions that were spot on.
We each had something different so we could share. We had the Chicken Burger with aged Vermont cheddar, crispy onions, shredded lettuce and pecan pesto mayo and a Build It Beef Burger with Swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms and arugula. WOW!!! is all I can say to describe these delightfully tasty burgers. They were both so juicy and flavorful. We had the basket of fries and onion rings and thanks to Taylor for suggesting the parmesan herb fries because they were a real tasty treat!
They have bits of parmesan cheese, garlic and herbs sprinkled over them, and they serve them with smoked paprika mayo which was out of this world! The large onion rings are beer battered and fried to crisp perfection. To wash all of the fantastic grub down, we each had a beer. They serve many of the local favorite craft beers in a can, bottle or on draft as well as red and white wine.
They also serve soft drinks, floats, and milkshakes. And speaking of milkshakes, we could not leave without trying their seasonal milkshake, roasted apple with cinnamon and ginger with housemade whipped cream. Guys this shake tasted like a fresh slice of apple pie. It was the perfect way to end our meal.
I have had some amazing burgers in my life, but to date, I do not believe I have ever had another burger quite as good as theirs. I thanked Taylor for everything and assured her we would be back to visit them very soon. So now the question I pose to you is this….have you been to Farm Burger yet? If not then what in the world are you waiting for? If you have, then comment and let me know what your favorites are!!!
