We finally got the chance to visit a place we have wanted to go to for a while and did we ever stumble upon a gem! Being the foodies and wine lovers that we are, we were like kids in a candy store. I am talking about Domaine South.
Owners Mike and Kristian Denis want the shop to reflect their passion for wine, food, art, books and a sense of coziness, comfort, and togetherness which is clear upon stepping foot inside. Their focus is on small production wines that show the region from which they came from as well as the craft of the winemaker. They have lots of great little artisanal gifts for the foodies in your life such as cookbooks, aprons, and pottery. Ever been to 1818 Farms in beautiful Mooresville, Alabama? Many of their homemade products can be found here.
They also have the most unique and aromatic candles. I couldn’t help but notice that there were different boxes of wine that were marked down and what great prices they have! Have you been invited to dinner and want to carry the hostess a little something? Well, this place has covered!
The shop has a variety of specialty cheeses, chocolates and fine food selections that pair well with their wines. They partner with AM Booth’s Lumberyard for tastings and dinners. We follow them on Facebook and discovered that they also conduct free wine tastings periodically at a place next door to them called Altered Home. (a great little place to shop for refurbished items)
We went to one of their tastings and got the chance to try some amazing wines and then we hopped over to the shop and bought some to carry home with us. Go and pay Domaine South a visit! It’s a great little place that you will want to go back to again and again!
